Primary Responsibility / Summary


The Community Services Coordinator, a grant funded position, will provide support to and be responsible for a wide range of workforce development activities, to include outreach, partnership development, convening and collaborating activities, resource asset collections and coordinating between Goodwill Southern California and community based organizations, faith based organizations, workforce development boards and departments, education and training institutions, law enforcement and local officials.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities 


1. Assess the community and partner needs with an emphasis on employment services and develop a database of resources


2. Facilitate quarterly Community Advisory Council Meetings


3. Market Goodwill Southern California employment services and conduct outreach events


4. Share job leads and recruitment events when appropriate


5. Actively pursue new relationships and create strategic partnerships that support the mission of Goodwill Southern California.


6. Establish MOU’s with organizations that can provide wrap-around supports such as transportation, financial literacy, childcare, housing, behavioral health, legal, education and other barriers to employment and retention


7. Build out and manage relationships with community-based organizations in order to refer job seekers for support services not offered by Goodwill Southern California.


8. Design and lead activities, programs, forums and convening’s that will provide education and increase opportunities for Veterans, Neighbors Without Homes, Justice Involved, Youth/Young Adults, Individuals with Disabilities and other underserved populations


9. Execute One Stop Operator contract with San Bernardino County Workforce


10. Assist in RFP and funding opportunities such as obtaining Letters of Support, MOU’s, and In-Kind Contributions


11. This is a non-remote position based at our San Bernardino location. 


12. This position requires local some travel (25% to 50% of the time) A valid CA driver's license and state-required auto insurance is required.  Driving record must be acceptable by the company’s insurance vendor.



Education & Experience


⦁ Minimum of 5 years nonprofit managerial and supervisory experience.  


⦁ Minimum of 3 years workforce development program implementation experience.


⦁ Bachelor's degree from a four‐year college or university in Project Management, Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field required. 


⦁ Master's degree or equivalent preferred. 


⦁ A combination of training, education, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. 


⦁ Knowledge of WIA, DOR, OMB circulars, legal and ethical requirements.


⦁ Knowledgeable in budgeting process


⦁ Experience in implementing programs serving persons with disabilities and other populations facing barriers to employment; ADA knowledge required.


⦁ Excellent written and verbal communication skills; highly skilled presenter.


⦁ Bi-lingual fluency (e.g., English/ASL, English/Spanish, etc.) and ability understand another culture as required by the program or local community highly desired.


Demonstrated leadership and collaborative skills with ability to motivate team work.
