Job Description


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. “Hands-on” routing and network optimization through the utilization of technology, equipment, people and defined parameters to service the customer.
  2. Identifies the technology and process to effectively analyze routing/warehouse optimization and resource utilization.  Create models or scenarios to predict the impact of changing circumstances, such as fuel costs, road pricing or energy taxes.
  3. Performs analysis of information and creates recommendations for optimization.
  4. Provide recommendations through analysis and metrics to support the requirements for routing, and resource requirements (people and equipment).
  5. Leads initiatives and provides direction for the optimization of the supply chain for the movement of goods and materials.
  6. Creates a robust process to review the timely and efficient routing and dispatching.  Ability to make proactive, fact driven changes as required.
  7. Collaborate with the Sales organization to identify opportunities for improvement, goal alignment, while meeting budgetary goals.
  8. Works cooperatively with all departments to ensure goals and objectives are achieved. 
  9. Evaluates route effectiveness and driver performance by routinely performing ride-alongs. 
  10. Collaborates to implement a safety program that is focused on ZERO incidents.
  11. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  12. Acts as a mentor for all department employees and foster a positive work environment.
  1. Evaluate effectiveness of current or future transportation processes as well as future warehouse layouts and process optimization.
  2. Develop specifications for Supply Chain material handling equipment requirements.
  1. This position requires 25% to 50% travel within the Southern California region, a valid CA driver’s license and state required insurance are necessary.  Driving record must be acceptable by company’s insurance vendor. 

Education & Experience

  • Required to have Transportation routing experience/analysis with a dedicated fleet as well as warehouse processes.
  • Experience implementing and analyzing data for “Transportation Routing” optimization for a dedicated fleet required.
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university required.
  • Transportation network optimization analysis and technology is required.
  • ERP business solutions.
  • Network Analysis systems.
  • SQL / Database management.
  • Abilities to work in a fast paced environment with good people skills.
  • Experience in supply chain solutions for distribution is required.
  • Demonstrated success in leading organizations utilizing continuous improvement, implementing change management, documentation for processes and KPI’s, training and development.
  • Must have extensive knowledge with CAD-type programs, MSExcel, MSWord, and MSPowerPoint as well as Routing/Network optimization tools.
  • Must have extensive knowledge and utilization of ERP systems.
  • Highly organized, flexible, detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking.
  • Effective problem solving skills with strong work ethic.
  • Knowledge of fleet operations safety, regulatory compliance including; tractors, straight trucks and trailers as well as fleet mechanical operation.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver key results with analytics and models.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an environment with confidential information.
